Genres: Comedy, Romance, School

Mashiro Shiina (椎名 ましろ Shiina Mashiro) is the main female protagonist of the story and resides in Room 202 of the Sakura Dormitory. Mashiro is a world famous artist who transferred into Suiko as a second-year to learn how to draw manga. Although her artworks are widely admired by the world in spite of her young age, she knows little to nothing other than drawing and is extremely reliant on others just to get by, lacking even the most basic common sense. As a result, Sorata is forced to constantly take care of Mashiro, to the point that he has to practically dress her, or she will go without clothing.

Sorata Kanda (神田 空太 Kanda Sorata?) is the male protagonist of the story. He is a second-year student of Suiko University of Arts, who lives in room 101 of the Sakurasou Dormitory. He was kicked out of the standard school dorm after he refused to abandon a white cat he picked up. As many of the Sakurasou Dormitory residents have outstanding grades and art skills, he often feels plain and normal among them. He is chosen by Chihiro to take care of Mashiro's daily life and although he initially resists, he eventually grows accustomed, even somewhat fond of the job.
Sorata used to play soccer in elementary and junior high, but he quit because he lost his passion for it.

Ryuunosuke Akasaka (赤坂 龍之介 Akasaka Ryūnosuke) is the resident of room 102. Ryuunosuke is a second-year student of Suiko. He is a recluse who rarely leaves his room, and usually communicates with others with cellphone messages or e-mails. To reduce the need to communicate with others, he programmed an AI program, "Maid". As an expert with computers and programming, he contributes lots of useful advice and information to Sorata for the latter's computer game. According to Ryuunosuke, his ultimate goal is to make Maid become a real human.

He has gynophobia, and will even pass out when girls touch him, which becomes worse after Rita falls in love with him and kisses him on the side of the lips, which becomes his (and consequently Rita's) first kiss.

Nanami Aoyama (青山 七海 Aoyama Nanami) is one of the main characters of the series.
She is also Sorata's classmate. Although she is harsh to Sorata, she obviously is in love with him, and everyone aside from Sorata has noticed this, due to the fact that Sorata is oblivious to her feelings towards him. She escaped from her home to become a voice actress, and has to live on her own.
After she finds herself low on and earns the latter's admiration. Sorata's mother even tells him that she prefer Nanami to be her daughter-in-law.
In the sixth novel, after she fails the voice actor election for the second time, and she decides to reunite with her parents to decide her next step.

Misaki (上井草 美咲 Kamiigusa Misaki) is the former resident of room 201. Misaki is a third-year-student of Suiko who later attends Suimei University of the Arts. She is very good at drawing, but the school decided to send her to Sakurasou Dormitory because she pays too much attention on drawing anime and manga. She creates animations and can handle most of the work herself.

She has feelings for Jin, and acts very open to express her feelings, but Jin turns a blind eye to this and dates many other girls, which can make her very depressed. Sooner or later, she gets married to Jin; making her new name, Mitaka Misaki. She moves into a house next to the Sakurasou Dormitory after her graduation fulfilling her dream as becoming a house wife.

Rita (リタ エインワーズ Rita Ainsworth) was Mashiro's roommate and handler when Mashiro was in England. She was jealous of Mashiro's art talent, and so advised Mashiro to draw manga, but she later regrets this after finding that Mashiro made a big hit on her manga, and comes to Japan to bring Mashiro back to England. After realizing Mashiro's determination, she gives up and returns to England with Mashiro's father and resumes to study art. She usually argues with Ryuunosuke.
She falls in love with Ryuunosuke and kisses him near the lips when leaving Japan, which makes him pass out. The second time Rita kissed Ryuunosuke was in Episode 24, though Ryuunosuke was more cautious. While Ryuunosuke is cold to her and keeps letting Maid handle her email, this only increases her determination and makes her constantly argue with Maid over the Internet. In the fifth novel, she visits Japan again to give Ryuunosuke Valentine's Day chocolate, and catches a chance to kiss him on the lips this time, which makes him pass out again.

Jin (三鷹 仁 Mitaka Jin) is the former resident of room 103. Jin is a third-year student of Suiko. He is Misaki's childhood friend and a playboy. He has dated several girls, including Misaki's elder sister, but in the end he breaks up with all of them.
He finally becomes a couple with Misaki during the fifth novel. He wants to become a playwright, and later attends a university in Osaka to achieve his goal. To pacify Misaki, he gives her a marriage registration form with his signature as a warranty, but Misaki ends up turning it in after his departure on the same day, which makes them officially married.
His residence in Osaka was revealed in Episode 24 to be in Utage-rin, Osaka Prefecture. This is a fictitious location.

Chihiro Sengoku (千石 千尋 Sengoku Chihiro?) is the 29-year old (+15 months) dorm teacher of Sakura Dormitory and an art teacher of Suiko. Despite being a teacher, Chihiro is lazy and only cares about drinking alcohol and trying to date men. Despite being a teacher, she often gives Sorata improper advice. She is Mashiro's cousin and is the one who arranges the transfer, but she forces Sorata to take care of Mashiro due to her laziness. She was a conscientious student of Suiko, and wanted to become a professional artist, but she changed and became an art teacher because of Kazuki Fujisawa wanting to be a game designer.

Genre Romantic comedy, Slice of life, Drama

Sawako Kuronuma (黒沼 爽子 Kuronuma Sawako) is the main protagonist of the series Kimi ni Todoke. Sawako is a shy yet honest girl who is in search of friendship, but her resemblance to a certain horror film character (that led to her being nicknamed as Sadako) and Sawako's tendency to shy away from correcting people of misconceptions prevent her from doing so. Thanks to Shota's kind and open nature, she is able to gradually make friends, open up to her classmates, and talk to different people. She is grateful (and at first, worships) Shota for giving her the opportunities to make close friends, which come to include Ayane, Chizuru, Shota and Ryu. Ayane and Chizuru admit that Sawako's 'like' to Shota might be even more than Ayane and Chizuru themselves. Sawako is incredibly fast (to the point where people believe she is teleporting) which is revealed during a soccer match at the school's sports festival. A running gag is that she seems to take what people say seriously as well as over-analyze a situation, which tends to scare the people around her when she is deep in thought.

Shota Kazehaya (風早 翔太 Kazehaya Shōta) is Sawako's outgoing and friendly classmate, as well as her boyfriend. He was so popular in middle school that he ended up with girls constantly wanting to confess to him. So many girls liked him that they in fact ended up forming the "Kazehaya is Everyone's" alliance in order to maintain some level of peace among his admirers. More than half of these girls now attend the same high school as Kazehaya, which has helped make him very popular in high school as well. Kazehaya has held a long standing interest in Sawako and admits (though not to Sawako) that he likes her, unaware that she feels the same for him. He often gets jealous of anyone who has the chance to spend alone time with her.
During their second year of high school, he begins to wonder if she actually likes him at all after she does not give him chocolates on Valentine's Day. He doesn't learn until much later that Sawako had simply been too nervous to give him any. He becomes calmer and shows a depressed, expressionless face more often after he begins to wonder over her feelings for him. However, after being confronted by Ryuu (influenced by Chizuru) and Pin, Kazehaya goes to Sawako as his friends jokingly remark that he likes Sawako. Kazehaya takes the remark seriously and agrees, subsequently confessing directly to Sawako.

Ryu Sanada (真田 龍 Sanada Ryū) is a character in the series Kimi ni Todoke. Ryu is a close childhood friend of Chizuru, having been friends since they were young. His feelings for Chizuru were established early on, and was hinted on several occasions. He does not deny having feelings for her. He later confirms his love when he confesses that he likes Chizuru to Sawako. While his love is unrequited, he is very patient with Chizuru realizing that Chizuru probably won't like him in a romantic sense, at least not right away. He's more than willing to comfort Chizuru if she's depressed, though he would rather have her mad at him as he knows Chizuru can vent out her emotions better. He seems to be fine with their friendship however later on, make it clear to Chizuru that he didn't want to tolerate it anymore and wanted something more. After a certain point, Chizuru started to become increasingly awkward around Ryu, blurting out random insults, stuttering while speaking or being at a complete loss for words.

Ayane Yano (矢野 あやね Yano Ayane) is a character in the series Kimi ni Todoke.
She studies at Kitahiro High School and is one of Sawako Kuronuma's classmates and friends. Ayane constantly supports Sawako with her relationship, and is aware of the mutual feelings between Sawako and Shota Kazehaya. She is known for wearing a lot of make up and having many piercings.

Ayane and Chizuru are already friends since the beginning of the series. They are very close and build each up together. They also both worry much about Sawako. It was revealed that at first they couldn't stand each other, but after a 'confrontation' understood each other well. Ayane has admitted to Pin that she admires Chizuru, knowing Chizuru isn't afraid of fighting back even if she might face pain, unlike her, who has a calculative personality.
When Chizuru was troubled by her feelings for Toru, Ayane had felt tremendous guilt for not being able to help, truly proving her feelings for Chizuru despite teasing her at times.

Ume Kurumizawa (胡桃沢 梅 Kurumizawa Ume) is a character in the series Kimi ni Todoke.
A girl who appears friendly and sweet to everyone around her, she has had a huge crush on Kazehaya since their first year of middle school. She dislikes her given name, Ume, because it sounds old-fashioned and prefers to be called "Kurumi." When she was in middle school, many of the girls hung around her to get attention from other boys who found Kurumi attractive and began to see her as a "boyfriend stealer" since many of the boys they liked would only ask her out.

Kurumi was deeply hurt and saddened by this and one day, while crying alone in the classroom, Kazehaya came and comforted her, leading to her developing feelings for him. It is possible that her fake personality comes from the pain she received from the people who she thought were her "friends", who turned out to only use her and that she feels she can't trust others. She is extremely jealous of Sawako , which led her to spread fake rumors of Sawako's only friends at the time, Yoshida and Yano , using Sawako's name. Kurumi does not attend the same class as Sawako or Kazehaya. She eventually confesses her love to Kazehaya, but receives an expected rejection. Because she is always surprised with Sawako's naivete, Kurumi is able to be her true self in front of Sawako and regards her as a rival for Kazehaya's affection. Following Kazehaya's rejection, she becomes colder to her classmates, but is able to finally express her feelings and personality, which makes them respect her more After Kazehaya and Sawako become a couple, Kurumi disappears from the series for a while until she reappears later, revealing that she wishes to study to become a teacher, which is Sawako's goal as well. She and Sawako thus form more of a friendship as they agree to help each other do the best they can in pursuing their mutual dream.

Chizuru Yoshida (吉田 千鶴 Yoshida Chizuru) is another close friend of Sawako and Ayane Yano
Chizuru is a high school girl with shoulder length brown hair, and black eyes. She is almost always seen wearing a bright smile. She's the tallest of her female friends, and her breasts are almost nonexistent. She is mostly seen wearing either her school uniform, consisting of a white button-up shirt underneath a yellow vest, a blue skirt, and black knee socks, or in a red and white long sleeved shirt, and denim jeans.

Chizu and Ryu are both childhood friend. They went to the same school since young till high school. Ryu had always liked Chizu while knowing that Chizu likes Toru, his brother. Both Ryu and Chizu have a good relationship. When Ryu's mother passed away, it is seen that Chizu comfort him. But later on the story, Chizu confessed to Ryu due to some circumstances and both of them kissed (chp 88) and both of them starts their relationship. But Ryu wants to go to a university as someone wants to recruit him for his talent in baseball but Chizu don't. Chizu can no longer support him because she doesn't want him to leave the town.

Kento Miura (三浦 健人 Miura Kento) is a character in the series Kimi ni Todoke.
A student in Sawako's class during second year who sits next to her. When Sawako befriends Miura, Kazehaya becomes jealous of him as a potential rival for Sawako. He is interested in girls, particularly Sawako and tries to persuade her to give up on Kazehaya, suggesting that she is burdening him.
Kento has blond, wavy hair, and is shown to be tall, although his height has not been confirmed. When Sawako met him, when he sat beside her, she imagines him as an American. He has brown/yellow eyes, and is seen usually wearing the usual school uniform.
He sat beside Sawako in the second year which got Shouta jealous and angry, he tries breaking them up but ends up making Shouta confess to Sawako but since both of them never understood what the other person meant they ended up separating and things turn to Kento's way but failed in the end realizing Sawako only sees him as a friend.

Kazuichi Arai (荒井一 市 Arai Kazuichi), commonly called Pin (ピン), is a character in the series Kimi ni Todoke.
Pin works as a teacher in Kitahiro High School. He became the temporary homeroom teacher for Sawako's class, taking over when the previous homeroom teacher became sick during the summer holidays while Sawako was helping him. Arai is nicknamed "Pin" and always is called that way, except Sawako who obeys the formalities and still calls him Arai-sensei. The reason he is called "Pin" is explained in the after-notes of Volume 1. Pin is a great fan of baseball as well as the school baseball team's coach. He used to be part of Kazehaya 's father's league team, so he has known him since when he was young.
He is a good friend of Tooru and is also about the same age as him. Pin is a flirtatious guy, but is always rejected.

Umaru Doma (土間 埋, Doma Umaru) is the main protagonist (and sometimes the main antagonist) of the Himouto! Umaru-chan series. Her "Himouto" title in Japanese is referred to as "worthless lazy-bum little sister". It is a combination of "himono-onna", meaning "dried-fish woman" who's proper in public but lazy at home; and imouto, "little sister". She has an unknown ability to switch between 2 modes: "Indoor" and "Outdoor". She is commonly called a brat (especially a spoiled/selfish/manipulative brat) by her brother Taihei as well as readers and viewers of the manga and anime (because of her usual bad attitude towards him).

Taihei Doma (土間 大平, Doma Taihei) is the older brother of Umaru in Himouto! Umaru-chan.

Taihei is a man of less than average build, appearing fairly slim and lacking in any real muscle tone, however, he appears healthy.

Kirie Motoba (本場 切絵, Motoba Kirie) is one of Umaru's classmates and friends in the Himouto! Umaru-chan series
Kirie is a girl attending school with Umaru with long navy blue hair tied into a ponytail with a few strands poking out. She has dark blue eyes that matches her hair color. Sylphyn has sky blue, long wavy hair, with two shorter strands that lay on the front of her shoulders. Her hair appears to be held back by a white hairband with yellow flowers.
Her figure is similar to Umaru's, with long skinny legs, a small waist, and moderately sized breasts.

Manager Kanau (叶課長, Kanau kachō) is the female boss of Taihei, Bomber, and Alex, described in Young Jump magazine as beautiful and excellent in Himouto! Umaru-chan
She has light-chestnut colored hair, with two bands on each side and wears a yellow bow. Her eyes can be described as light-chestnut or marron. She has striped cheeks like most of the other female characters in the series. Most of the time she is seen wearing a business suit.

Alex Tachibana (橘・アレックス, Tachibana Arekkusu), is Taihei's co-worker and older brother of Sylphynford Tachibana in Himouto! Umaru-chan.
He has an average build. He wears a white shirt with a brown vest and a red tie, with a grey pair of trousers and brown shoes.
He enjoys playing video games. He also has interests in anime, that he was recruited as a bright talent, but secretly he seems to know the connection between Komaru and Umaru.

Takeshi Motoba is Taihei Doma's childhood friend and coworker, his nickname is Bomber.
Unlike Taihei, Takeshi is laid back and lazy, similar to Umaru Doma. He likes to goof off at work, and mess around when out and about.
Takeshi has been friends with Taihei since at least high school, and followed each other to work in the same office. Takeshi has a little sister, who is also friends with Umaru, Kirie Motoba. His relationship with his sister is violent, with her becoming furious with him after upsetting her.

Astarotte no Omocha!

Lotte no Omocha! (ロッテのおもちゃ! Rotte no Omocha!, "Lotte's Toy!") is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yui Haga about Naoya, a man brought to a magical world as a candidate for the Princess Astarotte's harem. Lotte no Omocha! began its serialization run in the July 2007 issue of Dengeki Maoh and later republished in collected volumes by ASCII Media Works. In 2011, the manga series was adapted into an anime television series under the title of Astarotte no Omocha! (アスタロッテのおもちゃ!, "Astarotte's Toy!"), produced by Diomedéa under the direction of Fumitoshi Oizaki which aired between April and June 2011.

Naoya Tohara (塔原 直哉 touhara naoya), normally referred only as Naoya (ナオヤ), is the main male character of the series. A normal human or Maður as they are called in the Álfheimr, he is the father of Asuha and is the first and only member of Rotte's harem (or Rotte's toy from her perspective). He comes from Miðgarðr (the human world). A fateful encounter with Mercelída when he was 12 years old led to Asuha's conception and his eventual encounter with Rotte.

Astarotte Ygvar (アスタロッテ・ユグヴァール), more commonly known by her nickname Rotte (ロッテ) (commonly mistranslated as Lotte), is one of the main protagonist of the series. The title of the series, either the manga (Rotte no Omocha) or the anime (Astarotte no Omocha!) is named after her.
Rotte is a succubus and the daughter of Queen Mercelída. Naoya becomes Rotte's toy after she is forced by Judit to take a man for her harem since, like all succubus, she will eventually need to consume Sauzfryma, better known as sperm, in order to maintain her health as she matures. By coincidence, Naoya turns out to also be the father of her half-sister and friend Asuha, which she does not learn until further in the story.

Mercelída Ygvar (メルチェリーダ・ユグヴァール), affectionaly called Mer (Mer-san, メルさん) or Merce (Merce-san, メルチェさん) in the anime and Merci in scanlations, is the ruling queen of Ygvar. Her royal name is Mercelída Ygvar I.
Mercelída is the mother of both Rotte and Asuha. When she was 18 years old, after her sisters killed each other for the throne, she ran away from her home and fell into the world tree, where she met Naoya. She conceived Asuha accidentally: she was stranded on Miðgarðr and had to use her Succubus abilities with Naoya despite him being only 12 years old. Even with this brief encounter, she became somehow enamored of Naoya, but tries to keep her distance to allow her daughter's relationship with Naoya to flourish.

Asuha Tohara (塔原 明日葉, touhara asuha), originally named Asuhariet Ygvar (アスハリート・ユグヴァール) by her mother, and more commonly referred as Asuha (アスハ), is one of the main female protagonists of the series. Asuha is the daughter of Naoya and Mercelída and the true first princess of Ygvarland. She is Rotte's older half-sister.
While originally a normal human child, it is later revealed in advanced chapters of the manga that she is in fact half human / succubus after visiting the Dvergur Miraculous Spring that stimulated the growth of her succubus traits. Since her father is of incubus descent, it is possible that she might be a "purer" succubus than both her mother and sister since she is the daughter of an incubus, the original male counterpart of the succubus, which gives her the abilities of the succubi without their weakness.

Judit Snorrevík (ユーディット・スノーレヴィク) is the caretaker of Rotte and the Mercelida's best friend.
